Mayor of London's Skyride 2009

Following the outstanding success of the 'London Freewheel' events in 2007 and 2008, the Mayor and the sponsors, Sky, have announced another big cycling party day for Sunday 20 September, now rebranded as 'Skyride'.  Check out the new website by clicking on the beautiful people.

For the 2007 and 2008 Freewheel events, Go Pedal provided bikes alongside Clapham Common, one of several 'hubs' feeding the central London event. (we were never quite sure how you could have several hubs serving a centre, as this was surely wheel technology gone mad; it seemed to work though...)

This year, we will again be basing ourselves alongside Clapham Common, from where you can ride into the centre independently, or pick up on the ride being led by Ting Ting Tooting, which will be coming through the Common en route for Skyride Central.

All bikes are now reserved for the day, but if you would like to go on the waiting list in case of cancellations, please send us an email

A MESSAGE TO YOU, BORIS:

An annual event is all very well, but it's high time there was a more frequent programme of road closures to give cycling a regular boost.  In Paris, they do it every Sunday! And in Bogota! (click on the links below)

WHY ONLY ONCE A YEAR IN LONDON? MR MAYOR, ARE YOU SERIOUS ABOUT CYCLING? LET'S ROLL IT OUT!
